A grown-up Harry Potter with Snape's daughter Lilith Borgin, from Act Three of Liz Barr's scarifyingly brilliant fic Girl Most Likely:
There was a flash of red in his eyes as he said, "but I could teach you … you would learn so well. My willing apprentice." Hope you like it, Liz! |

This is awesome... but Harry reminds me a bit too much of my thesis advisor (well, much younger) for comfort.

*ahem*
Love how he's totally NOT looking into her eyes... and I can see the flash of red.
Deep breath. Deep breath.
So many tiny, lovely details, like the gleam in his eye, and the very faint look of shame on his face as he speaks. And the way he's caressing her wedding finger, while she plays with her hair. And Lilith's expression is perfect -- entranced and scared and haughty all at once. I love the subtle shading in their skin tones, too, and Lilith's pronounced pallor.
*dies of delight*
